Zachary Benson is the head of a successful empire and used to getting what he wants in the boardroom and outside of it – and what he wants is Regan Keller. He’s determined to convince Regan that even though he’s her boss, they can share a life together.
However, when Regan’s past threatens to destroy the architectural firm Zach has invested his entire career in, he has to make an executive decision whether to choose his business or fight for the woman he loves.

The story of a woman falling in love with her boss. Simple enough. Except . . . . .SPOILERS . . . . . .
.
.
This woman had previously fallen in love with another boss of hers who horribly betrayed her by marrying another (okay) but also beating her almost to death! And she lets him get away with it! No charges. Nothing! And okay, she's a victim of trauma. Not thinking clearly. But her entire family does nothing and lets this man get off scot-free for beating their sister/daughter almost to death? I just can't comprehend that. My mind's still struggling with how they just let it go. Ruined everything good about this story for me. .. . .

. end SPOILERS.
And to have Regan not tell Zach until the end what happened? He sees her confronting her ex, hears bits and pieces of the story, and defends her from yet another attack. She runs off and he has to go begging after her multiple times for her to come back to him? I wasn't feeling her love at all. Maybe she just wasn't ready, but her family should have known better. They gave him such a hard time for something that wasn't his fault at all. He got more heat than the abuser did.

The Executive Decision The Keller Family Series Book 1 edition by Bernadette Marie Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The Executive's Decision is a terrific book and a great beginning to a wonderful series. I have become addicted to the Keller and Benson family after reading Zack Benson and Regan Keller's love story. Regan falls for Zach on the bus, that is on his lap, on her way in to her first day of work. Unknown to her, Zach is her new boss and when she finds out, she tries to put a halt to any developing relationship between them, albeit unsuccessfully, since Zach is one determined man to get the woman he has fallen for. Regan is rightfully wary to get involved in another office romance due to her painful past with another boss that turned deadly, but Zach's romantic, tender side slowly chips away at the barrier around her heart. It was a beautifully written story that was romantic with a touch of suspense that hooked me in from the first page. All the characters were well developed and I felt as if I knew them. I loved the friendships and family interactions portrayed in this book that had me smiling and crying. Looking forward to reading Carlos Keller's story in A Second Chance.
I really wanted to like this book, and in many ways, I did right up until the halfway point. The main lead isn't exactly poverty ridden, but she's lower classed than the male lead, who falls in love with his new assistant from the start.
What I really liked about this book was how damaged the heroine was, but how she grew through the start of the book to the middle. I liked her character--and his, too. I was willing to go ahead with both of them until it became pretty repetitive. The heroine's plight is so pervasive it has no room for other issues to come into play. If there had been more issues for this couple to face, I think I would have been on board a lot more after the midway point. I finished the book, and it had a solid ending, but between the repetitive nature and he issues I list below, I had a hard time enjoying the second half of the title.
As for what prevented me from enjoying this title from start to finish the book is plagued with formatting and editorial issues that just took away from the story on a whole. There are sentences that don't make sense (it looks like the author was in process of editing and got distracted, maybe?) there are no scene breaks when there should be, so one paragraph will be from her perspective and then it will jump to the other perspective at a completely different location or tone without any cues this is happening, which is really jarring.
With an editing pass to fix those issues, this would be a 4* book for me. I did like both characters, especially Zach, who is just a nice guy. Flawed in ways, but a genuinely nice guy.
This has the makings of a good feel good romance, with characters easy to like. Wanted to like this book so much more than I did.
I think this boo k was written by two different people.
The beginning was cute, for a few sentences. A lady falls into a guy's lap on public transportation, that's funny. The lady stays in his lap the entire ride, verging on psycho. Telling him where she is going to be working and her name, lock her up and throw away the key for her own protection. She is incapable of making sound decisions and an unworthy heroine.
If she chatted about the weather and then he turned up in the office as her boss, you still have a story. She agrees to meet him for lunch and doesn't get his name and worse yet meets him and still isn't smart enough to get a name, absolutely unbelievable.
I tried to keep reading but I just couldn't finish the book. There was no warmth to either character. I just kept thinking how stupid they both were and how embarrassed I was to be in the same gender as Regan and wondering if there were any men out there trying to read this and feeling the same way about Zack
Even after all this I still wanted to know what Reagan's dark secret was so I jumped to the last chapter. That's where it seemed like someone else took over the pen/keyboard. All of a sudden the characters had warmth and I had some feeling for them.
I still would not recommend this book to my friends.
I did read some of the sneak peak of book. two and whoever wrote the end of this book was still at the keyboard. The beginning was good but, at least for now I won't be purchasing it. I just can't be sure how long this writer will be at the keyboard.
